The Blue House Gallery in Schull is holding its annual Christmas exhibition until January 4th.

The Uillinn West Cork Arts Centre in Skibbereen is hosting Sarah Dwyer's first institutional solo exhibition, until January 27th next.

 November Events

November 28th: Parade and Lights (Skibbereen)

The festive fun in Skibbereen will start when the annual Christmas parade welcomes Santa and Mrs. Claus to town for the switching on of the Christmas lights.

Starts at 5pm.

November 28th - New Year: Christmas Cabin (Skibbereen)

Skibbereen’s Christmas Cabin on The Bridge will offer lots of Christmas cheer. People can have their photo with the festive backdrop from November 28th well into the New Year.

November 29th: Craft Fair (Skibbereen)

A Christmas Craft fair in aid of Skibbereen Playground at the Eldon Hotel.

11am to 4pm, featuring lots of festive treats and fun.

November 30th: Sherkin Fair (Sherkin Island)

Sherkin Island's annual Christmas Craft Fair will take place in the community hall on the island.

Starts at 12pm. There will be lots of stalls, refreshments, and festive cheer.

November 30th: Ballydehob Fair

The Ballydehob Christmas Craft and Food Fair is on at Ballydehob Community Hall.

11am to 4pm. Free entry, local crafts and art, food and drink, a raffle, a children's art competition, carols, and Santa. Fundraiser for Scoil Bhríde, Ballydehob.


 December Events

December 5th, 6th, and 7th: Crookhaven Market

The return of Crookhaven's special Christmas street market.

Friday, December 5th: 5pm to 9pm

Saturday, December 6th & Sunday, December 7th: 2pm until 6pm

December 6th: Tree of Light (Schull)

Schull National School will be having their annual Tree of Light Ceremony outside the Bunratty Inn at 6pm.

December 6th, 13th, and 20th: Live Music (Skibbereen)

Skibbereen and District Chamber of Commerce have organised live music throughout the holidays, with performances by local musicians at The Bridge.

December 6th, 13th, and 20th: North Pole Express

Skibbereen Garden Centre will be hosting The North Pole Express again this year on Saturdays.

Tickets are €18 per child with all proceeds going to the Skibbereen playground.

December 7th, 13th, and 20th: Skibb Markets (Skibbereen)

Three special Christmas markets at the Fairfield in Skibbereen on Saturdays.

December 7th: Leap Market

Leap Christmas market in the beautiful surroundings of Myross Wood.

10am until 4pm.

December 7th: Christmas Fair (Deelish)

Christmas fair at Deelish Garden Centre.

11am until 5pm.

December 8th: Discount Day (Skibbereen)

Free parking and festive discounts courtesy of Skibbereen and District Chamber of Commerce on the traditional shopping day in the market town.

December 13th: Gaelscoil Fun (Skibbereen)

A fun Christmas afternoon at the Gaelscoil in Skibbereen.

2pm until 5pm.

December 13th: Story Time (Skibbereen)

Skibbereen Library will be hosting a special Christmas story time for children at 11am, and Santa has promised to pay the children a visit!

December 14th: Fair (Schull)

Christmas Fair at O’Regan’s Bar, Schull.

2pm until 5pm. All money raised will support local charities.

December 17th: Craft Market (Skibbereen)

Skibbereen Community and Family Resource Centre Christmas Craft Market.

2pm to 7pm.

December 17th and 18th: Musical (Schull)

Join Schull Community College Transition Year students for a magical performance of The Wizard of Oz.

December 19th: Special Express (Skibbereen)

The North Pole Express again at Skibbereen Garden Centre is open on Friday for playschools and schools exclusively.

December 21st: Street Market (Schull)

A Winter Solstice Street Market on December 21st and a virtual Gifted Advent Calendar, which can be accessed by a QR code, by the 21 businesses on the Main Street offering a free event and donations to community organisations.

December 25th: Swims

At the sound of the Angelus bell, swimmers gathered at Schull Pier will be taking the plunge as part of a traditional Christmas swim fundraiser.

Similarly, hundreds are expected to turn up for the annual Christmas swim at Tragumna.
