What's On Bantry Area

BINGO
The Bantry Bay Lions Club host bingo in the Bantry Boys' Club on Sunday nights. The doors open at 7pm and the games will start at 8pm sharp. All welcome.

BRIDGE
Bantry Bridge Club plays every Tuesday night in the Maritime Hotel at 7.45pm and visitors and guests are very welcome to join.

GORTALASSA
The weekly Wednesday gatherings at Gortnagaer Old School House (GOSH), P75 C589, are held from 11am to 1pm. Everybody is welcome to come along and enjoy a social morning.

PARKRUN (GLENGARRIFF)

BANTRY LIBRARY
Bantry Library will host 'At your age' - a reading of a new play by Elaine Desmond and other concoction which takes a humorous look at aging. Arrive 2pm for tea and coffee and the performance will be held from 2.30pm to 3.45pm.

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 23RD
TRACTOR RUN
Bantry Inshore's annual tractor run will take place in aid of Bantry Inshore Search & Rescue Association and the West Cork Rapid Response. Registration will begin at 12pm at Barrett Agri Yard and the run will start at 2pm.

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 23RD
MONSTER BINGO
Bantry Bay Lions Club will be hosting a €1,000 monster bingo night at the Bantry Boys' Club at 8pm in aid of the CoAction Centre.

GLENGARRIFF CHRISTMAS FAIR
St Fanahan's Annual Christmas Fair will be held at the Eccles Hotel & Spa from 12pm to 4pm.

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 28TH
CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
Everyone is welcome to gather for the annual turning on of the Christmas lights at 7pm.

OÍCHE NA HOÍGE (DÚRRUS)
Iarthar Bhéara Foreign Club will be hosting an open night from 7pm to 9pm for members of the community to stop in and see what the club is all about.

THURSDAY DECEMBER 4TH
INDOOR CHRISTMAS MARKET
Bantry Gardens Centre will be holding an Indoor Christmas Market from 10am to 3pm. There will be arts, crafts, baking and candles. Everyone welcome.

WINTER FUNDRAISER
Bantry Community Garden's winter fundraiser will be held at the Glanna Falls from 6pm to late. There will be spoken word, storytelling and traditional music. Suggested donation of €10 on the door.

SUNDAY DECEMBER 7TH
CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS
The New Street Christmas Market will be held from 11am to 4pm with lots of stalls to browse, Santa's Grotto will be held in the Marino Church from 2pm.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 20TH.
HOSPICE GALA
The Bantry Hospice Gala Fundraising Dinner will return to The Maritime Hotel, Bantry on Saturday, December 20th. Starting at 6pm, the Gala will include a drinks reception and canapés, a four-course meal, prizes, and live entertainment from The Moods Band, followed by a DJ set. Tickets costing €70 are available by contacting Helen O'Shea at The Maritime Hotel on 027 54700.

31 DECEMBER 2025
NEW YEAR FAMILY GATHERING
A fantastic free and open event on Wolfe Tone Square for all the family to celebrate the arrival of the New Year. Music will start on the square around 9pm and the fireworks will start at approximately 10pm.

December 6th
Christmas tree and lights switch-on after Mass on Saturday, December 6th.

December 7th
The Christmas Market and Santa Day take place on Sunday, December 7th from 11am– 4pm in Scoil an Chroí Ró Naofa, with Santa and Mrs Claus arriving around 1pm. Santa will be on a whistlestop tour throughout Beara that day, so keep your eyes peeled on local social media!

December 19th
Draw for CDA Christmas Hamper on Friday, December 19th. Tickets will be on sale at local outlets and at all CDA events.

December 26th
Don’t miss the St Stephen’s Day Treasure Challenge on Friday, December 26th from 9am.
