Kevin O’Brien (16), Ballydehob was on work experience with us recently, and we insisted that he take part in West Cork’s favourite interview. Funnily enough, he didn’t need to be asked twice...

How would your best friend describe you? I have to keep this clean so the best thing I have been called is an eejit.

Who was your sporting hero when you were 10 years old? Jonathan Walters, Donal O’Sullivan, Sacha Walden and Barry ‘Badger’ O’Brien are big contenders but they are just about pipped to the accolade by Steven Gerrard

Tell us a funny story from your childhood: Me and my friends, Thomas and Daniel, stayed over at our friend Patrick’s house one night. Patrick fell asleep so we decided to paint his nails. We did a very good job. I must say, but Patrick would beg to differ.

Where would you recommend for a weekend away? Ballydehob. It is great craic especially when the soccer team are out and about. Some of the images that are on Viber the next morning of Mark, Dan and Badger are priceless.

If you were on an island and could only bring three things, what would you bring? Duvet, PS4 and a football to keep my level of skill up. I would have said a boat but I can always make one. even though I dropped Woodwork for the Junior Cert.

If you could go back in time, where would you go and why? May 2015 at Turners Cross when I was part of the U16 Bunratty United team that captured the league and cup double.

What song best describes you? Only for the title but ‘Wake Me Up’ by Avici. I sleep a lot and my parents and friends know not to contact me before 2pm on my days off.

What is your least favourite word? I have two: Manchester United.

What’s your favourite knock-knock joke? Knock Knock, Who’s there? Interrupting cow! Interrupting c... Moooooo!

What’s the world’s greatest invention? The Playstation – but my parents strongly disagree on that one.

How many cows are there in Ireland? I won’t include the ones who have 2 legs so I will say over 1.2 million.

If you know you’d die tomorrow, how would you spend your last day? I’d cry for a while but I would spend all my savings and have one big pig-out on Jaffa Cakes and Ben & Jerrys icecream.

A penguin walks into the room wearing a sombrero, why is he wearing it and what does he say? He says that I did a very job during this interview. Why is he wearing it? He wants everyone to know that he is serious!
