She won her second senior All-Ireland camogie title last year, and as 2016 kicks into action, Ballineen’s Orla Cronin (20) chats about personal chauffeurs, Trabolgan, sporting omens and driving lessons...

Rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 10 on how funny you are? Oh Lord, relatively unfunny. 4. Unless laughing at yourself counts? I have to hang around with loads of funny people to compensate!

Highlight of your sporting career? Winning my second All-Ireland senior camogie medal in 2015 as part of the starting 15 was unreal.

Most dialled number on your phone? It’s a toss-up between my mon, dad, Karl and Yvonne, and it’s all for same reason – to be picked up!

What’s your karaoke song? That’s ‘Torn’ by Natalie Imbruglia. It’s an emotional one after a few drinks! Tugs on the heart strings!

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself? I was born on October 8th 1995, the day Kilbrittain won the intermediate hurling county final. My dad was their trainer and, so they say, I was born channelling some good hurling omens.

Best-ever holiday? I’d say Trabolgan with my best friend Sinead when we were about six.

If you won the lotto what would you buy first? Absolutely, definitely a personal chauffeur. I wouldn’t have to worry about the spins then! Although I could just do my driving lessons….

Separated at birth, who’s your celebrity twin double?I’ve been mistaken for Angelina Jolie once… I wish!

What’s your favourite word? Chocolate – it’s music to my ears.

If you could change any part of you what would it be? My sweet tooth-doesn’t help during the pre-season training!

Your most treasured item of clothing?Anything I’ve robbed off my sisters!

Favourite cartoon? I still get excited watching ‘Recess’ on the rarity of a Saturday morning.

If I was an animal then I would be… anything that hibernates.
