ATKINS Farm & Garden officially opened its newly revamped Bandon depot with a weekend of celebrations and a visit from Taoiseach Micheál Martin.
The farm and garden machinery store has been transformed with a major investment and a focus on innovation and customer service.
First opened in 1982 as a West Cork branch to support the company’s primary outlet in Cork City, the Bandon depot has undergone a full redevelopment.

The previous building was demolished, and a new state-of-the-art facility was constructed, reopening in May of last year.
Atkins Bandon now offers a fully comprehensive sales, parts and service operation for both farm and garden machinery with the team expanded from three to ten employees.

Customers can now enjoy a self-sufficient outlet providing premium brands such as Fendt, Kubota, McHale, Pottinger, JCB, and Vogelsang.
Performing the ribbon cutting Mr Martin described the reopening as ‘a strong vote of confidence in the local community, bringing new investment and quality jobs to West Cork’.
The Fianna Fáil leader added: ‘Atkins plays a vital role in supporting farmers across Cork, and the wider Munster region, who are at the heart of Ireland’s proud agricultural tradition.
‘It is SMEs like Atkins, right across Ireland, that are the foundation of our economy, sustaining communities, supporting livelihoods, and driving growth across the country. I commend Mark and the Atkins team for their vision and wish them continued success into the future.’
Atkins managing director Mark Wolfe said: ‘This reopening marks a significant milestone for Atkins and for our customers. We’ve made a major investment in this new, purpose-built facility to ensure we can continue to deliver the highest standards of service, expertise, and innovation to the people and businesses who rely on us every day.
‘Atkins has always been rooted in supporting the farming community, and we are proud to play our part in helping Cork and Munster farming to succeed.
‘This redevelopment has also allowed us to grow our team, creating new local jobs and strengthening the skills and knowledge we offer our customers. We’re excited about the future and remain fully committed to supporting rural communities and Irish agriculture for generations to come.’
Atkins Bandon was awarded Agri-DIY Store of the Year at the Retail Excellence Ireland Awards 2025, highlighting the success of the redevelopment.
