A BANDON man who was caught in the possession of amphetamines when gardaí called to his home over reports of a domestic incident has received a two-month prison sentence.

Kamil Gos, of 6 The Orchard, Chapel Street, Bandon pleaded guilty at Bandon District Court to the possession of amphetamines.

Sgt Tom Mulcahy told Judge Joanne Carroll that at 5.50am on October 15th last gardaí were called to the accused’s address in Bandon due to a report received about a domestic disturbance there.

‘On arrival at the house Gda Eoghan Hodnett saw the accused having an argument with family members. He was very drunk and went outside with gardaí and became aggressive with them,’ said Sgt Mulcahy.

‘During the course of the argument a small bag of white powder fell from his person and his mother picked it up and handed it over to gardaí. It had a street value of €20.

The court heard that the accused has 15 previous convictions including three for the possession of drugs.

His solicitor Éamonn Fleming said he had very little to say and his client is currently serving a prison sentence with a release date of early 2028.

‘He was addicted to drugs and regularly took speed,’ said Mr Fleming.

Judge Carroll noted that this is his fourth conviction for the possession of drugs and sentenced him to two months in prison.
