NEWLY-PROMOTED Baltimore were denied their first win of this PremierHiSpecCars.com Premier Division campaign when Castletown Celtic scored three goals in the last 12 minutes to earn a 4-4 draw.

Both teams were on zero points heading into last Sunday’s clash, and Baltimore must have felt they were well on their way to a valuable win when they led 4-1 at the break.

Jack O’Callaghan had given Castletown an early lead, but goals from Jason Minihane, John Davis and Danny Collins (2) saw Baltimore lead by three at half time.

Castletown, coming off the back of losses to Togher Celtic and Lyre Rovers, rallied in the second half. Tiernan O’Driscoll pulled a goal back in the 78th minute. Darren Coughlan’s goal five minutes from the end set up a grandstand finish. Then Jack O’Callaghan became the Castletown hero with a 90th-minute equaliser in an eight-goal thriller.

There was late drama, too, when Steven O’Donovan netted a penalty 12 minutes into injury time at the end of their clash away to Drinagh Rangers B, as Dunmanway Town snatched a 1-0 win – their first three points of the league campaign.

Drinagh Rangers’ A team made it two wins from two when they were too strong away to Lyre Rovers, winning 4-1. It was level at the break, 1-1, Finn Moroney equalising late in the half for Lyre after Tom McQueen had given Drinagh the lead. But three second-half goals from Barry O’Driscoll (H), Padraic Hegarty and Harry Carey fired Drinagh to all three points.

Champions Clonakilty Soccer Club, like Drinagh, maintained their perfect start, winning 3-1 away to Togher Celtic thanks to goals from James Calnan (2) and Chris Collins.

Beara United are one of three clubs on six points – along with Skibbereen Celtic and Bunratty United – in the OBrienWaterServices.com Championship after they hammered Skibbereen 6-1 away on Friday night. Declan Dunne (2), Jakob Hesse, Ruben McAttorney, James Harrington and Richard Murphy all scored for Beara, while Carl McPherson was on target for Skibb.

On Sunday, Conor Brosnan scored twice, including a penalty, and Sean Evans and Lorcan O’Brien were also on the scoresheet as Bunratty United won 4-0 away to Mizen Hob.

Aultagh Celtic B picked up their first points in the Championship when they beat Spartak Mossgrove 1-0 thanks to John Barrett’s first-minute goal.

Also, Ardfield battled back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Aultagh Celtic. Goals in either half from Daniel Barrett and Steven O’Connell saw Aultagh lead, before two goals in three minutes from George Cannon and Ben Lenihan earned Ardfield a share of the points.
