THE countdown is on to the annual Celtic Ross West Cork Sports Star Awards that will be held this Saturday, January 9th, in the Celtic Ross Hotel, Rosscarbery.
The biggest night in the West Cork sports calendar, these awards celebrate the best of West Cork sport from a tremendous 2015.
On the night, the overall 2015 West Cork Sports Star of the Year will be unveiled, and check out our preview video below to see who is in the running for the big prize.
Also at this gala banquet, Munster Rugby Branch President Bertie Smith will be presented with the Hall of Fame award, Skibbereen Rowing Club will be awarded the 2015 Club of the Year award, and Clonakilty dual GAA ace David Lowney will accept the West Cork Youth Sports Star award.
As well as that, former Republic of Ireland soccer star Tony Cascarino is the guest speaker at Saturday night’s Celtic Ross Hotel West Cork Sports Star Awards.
Cascarino made 88 appearances for Ireland and scored 19 goals, and his career included spells at Millwall, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Celtic, Marseille and Nancy, to name but a few.
