FORMER Ireland rugby head coach Declan Kidney swung into action this week to help Breakthrough Cancer Research launch its annual Lee Valley Golf Classic event, which takes place on Friday, May 29th in aid of cancer research.

Breakthrough Cancer Research funds research programmes taking place at Cork Cancer Research Centre, whose scientists and clinicians work tirelessly to develop new treatments for those cancers which cannot yet be cured.

The event is once again sponsored by The River Lee Hotel and supported by Janssen, Musgrave Group and Quish’s SuperValu.

Limited tee times are available for teams of three at €200 before 1pm and €250 thereafter, which includes green fees, a meal in the clubhouse, a goodie bag and a chance to win some fantastic prizes including weekend breaks at the luxury Doyle Collection hotels including the iconic five star Westbury Hotel Dublin. Tee box sponsorship opportunities are also available for €100.
