O’Donovan Rossa GAA Club avenged their county senior football championship semi-final defeat by neighbours Castlehaven when they won the Rochestown Park Division 1 football league final this Sunday afternoon.

The final score was 0-9 to 0-6 and the Skibbereen side was presented with the impressive Kelleher Shield trophy after what proved a rather stormy affair at a windswept Leap venue. It was a satisfactory conclusion to the season for O’Donovan Rossa, who had targeted winning the league this year.

Also, in senior football, Nemo Rangers beat Legion of Killarney at Pairc Ui Rinn to advance to the Munster club final. At intermediate level, Carrigaline got through to their Munster final with an away win over Limerick champions Oola.
