SKIBBEREEN have won the Cork County Cup for a seventh time after a terrific 21 – 16 victory against local West Cork rivals Clonakilty at Bandon on Sunday afternoon.

Clonakilty had led 10 – 9 at the break, thanks to tries from Declan White and Gerard McCarthy, while three Ger Hurley penalties had Skibbereen well in touch.

Joe Lee extended Clonakilty's advantage with a penalty in the second half, but an excellent try by Liam Coombes and a second by winger Rory Hone, which was converted by Hurley, put the game beyond Clonakilty.

Lee did close the gap with his second penalty for Clon, but it wasn’t enough to deny Skibbereen their County Cup title.
