Newcestown will compete in the county senior hurling ranks next season

MASSIVE congratulations to Newcestown GAA Club who have won promotion to the senior hurling ranks following a fantastic Cork PIHC final win today.

Twelve months on from losing the 2014 PIHC county decider to Ballyhea, Newcestown made no mistake on Sunday afternoon in Pairc Ui Rinn as they put Valley Rovers to the sword.

Newcestown won by 18 points in an emphatic performance that now means that they are a dual senior club – a terrific achievement for the club.

Newcestown led 0-10 to 0-4 at half-time, as Daniel Twomey, Jack Meade and Carthach Keane all found their range.

The winners continued to dominate in the second half and the points flowed, with Daniel Twomey’s late penalty confirming Newcestown’s huge win. Let the celebrations begin.
