Stunning second-half comeback sees Newcestown defeat West Cork rivals Enniskeane in decider
NEWCESTOWN were crowned Cork intermediate camogie champions after a stirring second-half comeback in Saturday’s county final in Brinny.
West Cork rivals Enniskeane led 3-3 to 0-6 at the break thanks to three goals in seven minutes from Megan O’Regan, Orla Coughlan and Sinead Hurley.
But Newcestown showed the stuff of champions in the second half as they battled back into the game, inspired by player of the match Colette Desmond, top scorer Colleen Twomey and a much-improved display.
Limiting Enniskeane to one second half point, Newcestown scored 1-7, as they won by 1-13 to 3-4.
