Goleen GAA  legend John Cullinane (45) was man-of-the-match in last Friday’s historic Cork JCFC final win, and if he could go back in time, he would relive it all over again!

How would your best friend describe you? I’ll go for one word: determined.

Who was your sporting hero when you were 10 years old? Maurice Fitzgerald, he was brilliant. He was too legged, could score from anywhere and could do things with a ball that most of us would only dream of. He was different class.

Tell us a funny story from your childhood: Well, this isn’t exactly my childhood, but going back around 15 years, I was travelling in a car in Goleen when the airbag exploded for no reason – it just burst! It was pretty funny, but the fumes almost knocked us out.

Where would you recommend for a weekend away?

Killarney. Why? Liam’s stag. Enough said.

If you were on an island and could only bring three things, what would you bring? I’d have to bring the county cup, my phone and some company (for when the phone battery dies).

If you could go back in time, where would you go and why? Last Friday night when Goleen won the county final at Brinny. It will never be bettered. I got a text on Monday saying ‘what’s rare is wonderful and to win the cup with your buddies is one of the best feelings in the world’. It summed it up. I must find out who sent the text …

What song best describes you? Anne Jones’ rendition of You’re So Vain.

What is your least favourite word? Losing.

What’s the world’s greatest invention? It would have to be the mobile phone, wouldn’t it? It’s hard to imagine life before it.

If you know you’d die tomorrow, how would you spend your last day? With the lads and the cup in O’Meara’s Bar in Goleen talking about the time we won the county football final!

A penguin walks into the room wearing a sombrero, why is he wearing it and what does he say? Jokes aside, I think we met him on Liam’s stag in Killarney, but none of us could understand what he was saying …
