CORK hurler Brian Hayes is one of three nominees for the PwC All-Stars Hurler of the Year, along with Tipperary duo Jake Morris and John McGrath.

The St Finbarr’s man had a stellar year for the Rebels as they reached the All-Ireland final.

Overall, 11 Cork players are nominated for an All-Star with Ballinhassig’s Patrick Collins one of three goalkeeper nominees, Seán O’Donoghue of Inniscarra, Niall O’Leary, Mark Coleman and Ciarán Joyce amongst the defenders, midfield partners Darragh Fitzgibbon and Tim O’Mahony and forwards Hayes, Shane Barrett, Alan Connolly and the recently retired Patrick Horgan.

Only All-Ireland champions Tipp have more nominations with 13 while Limerick (seven), Kilkenny (six), Dublin (four), Waterford (two), Galway and Wexford (one each) follow.

Meanwhile, Tipp youngsters Darragh McCarthy and Robert Doyle as well as Limerick’s Adam English are nominated for the Young Hurler of the Year award.
