Eight Skibbereen rowers to compete in Home International

It will be a busy weekend for Skibbereen Rowing Club athletes at the 2015 Home International Regatta that will be held at Strathclyde Park, Scotland this Saturday.

EIGHT Skibbereen rowers will represent Ireland at the 2015 Home International Regatta that will be held at Strathclyde Park, Scotland this Saturday, July 25th.

Representatives from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales will take part in a competition that is now in its 53rd year. Over time the events contested have changed to reflect the in participation in the sport and the greater emphasis on sculling.

Kenneth McCarthy and Murray Connolly row in the men’s coxless four and also in the men’s coxed eight. Justin Ryan competes in the men’s lightweight single scull and in the men’s quadruple scull.

Jake McCarthy and Matthew compete in the men’s lightweight coxless pair.

Louise O’Sullivan competes in the women’s junior 18 quadruple scull.

Niamh Casey and Ellen McCarthy compete in the women’s junior 18 pair.
