COURCEY Rovers, Kilbrittain-Timoleague, Bandon and Barryroe were amongst Carbery’s winners in the latest rounds of the Cork Camogie county leagues.
Courceys were eager to maintain their perfect premier intermediate county league record following back-to-back Division 1 victories ahead of Monday evening’s trip to Na Piarsaigh.
They produced another terrific display to win 0-14 to 1-6 and maintain top spot in the division. Jacinta Crowley fired over eight points including six frees. Caoimhe Foley (0-3), Ellen Maguire, Ann-Marie Collins and Ashling Moloney (0-1 each) were also on Rovers’ scoresheet.

On the same evening and in the same division, Enniskeane travelled to Ballincollig where the visitors fell to a 3-15 to 0-12 defeat. Maebh O’Brien starred for Enniskeane, scoring eight points. Lauren Corcoran, Molly Hilliard and Daire O’Brien also contributed.
Newcestown’s Division 1 senior league clash with Glen Rovers was postponed and will be re-fixed for a later date.

Ballinascarthy got their intermediate county league campaign up and running with a Group B fixture away to Newtownshandrum on Monday evening.
Bal fought from 11 points down only to come up short, 1-10 to 2-6, following a cracking second-half effort. Grace Flynn and Sinead McCarthy found the net for a Ballinascarthy team that also had Megan Ryan, Maeve Kingston and Siofra Pattwell on target.
Elsewhere in the intermediate county league, despite a battling effort, Clonakilty lost 2-16 to 2-8 at home to Douglas in Ahamilla. Down nine points at the interval, Clon closed the gap to three before a late goal and point sealed the visitors’ success. Amy McCarthy and Aine Hennessey were prominent for a Clonakilty team that had McCarthy (1-3), Aoife O’Flynn Meade (1-4) and Eva Oldham (0 -1) on their scoresheet.

Kilbrittain-Timoleague travelled to Mallow and came away with a hard-earned premier junior county league Group B victory on Saturday.
Amid difficult weather conditions, Kilbrittain got off to the best possible start with Hannah Sexton, Anna Crowley and Lorraine Dineen firing over the bar in quick succession. Next, Anna Crowley intercepted a pass and found the back of the net. Backed by a strengthening wind, Kilbrittain dominated possession and held their opponents scoreless to lead 1-7 to 0-0 at the break.
Mallow utilised the elements and played their back into the game after the interval. The sides exchanged points throughout an evenly-fought half until Laura Sheehy’s late goal put the seal on a superb 2-8 to 0-6 Kilbrittain-Timoleague victory. Anna Crowley, Laura Sheehy (1-1 each), Hannah Sexton, Lorraine Dineen, Hannah Twomey, Kaitlyn Dineen and Rachel Butler were all on target.

Bandon recorded their first junior C county league win of the campaign away to Dungourney on Saturday.
A dominant first-half display, in which the visitors amassed 1-10, laid the foundation for the Carbery club’s Group B success. Emerging 1-14 to 1-1 winners, Clodagh Barry top scored with 0-8 of her side’s total. Laura Cummins (1-2), Breffni Kelly (0-3) and Aisling O’Connor (0-1) also contributed. Bandon’s best players included Ella McCarthy, Aisling O’Connor, Laura Cummins and Clodagh Barry. St Colum’s and Fermoy are the other clubs competing in Group B.
Barryroe staged a terrific second-half comeback to defeat Tracton in Group A of the Lillie O’Sullivan League in Barryroe last Thursday. The visitors enjoyed the better start and built a 2-5 to 0-8 interval advantage. A Sinead Walsh goal early in the second period kickstarted Barryroe’s revival. A second goal from Seodhna Walsh saw the Carbery club kick for home and win 2-10 to 2-7.
Sinead Walsh, Caoimhe Ní Bhuachalla, Shona Fleming, Eabha Ní Bhuachalla and Ellen were amongst the home side’s other scorers in a fixture Mia O’Driscoll and Louise Coleman also impressed.

Róisín Forristal and Aoife White goals weren’t enough to prevent a Clonakilty loss, 3-12 to 2-6, at home to St Fanahan’s in Group C of the Premier Minor 2 county league. Eva Oldham, Eibhlin Murphy and Saoirse Gilmore were Clon’s other scorers.
Barryroe’s first Premier Minor 1 League Group A fixture of the year ended in a 3-13 to 0-4 defeat to a strong Sliabh Rua side in Barryroe.
Courcey Rovers lost for the first time in Group C of the minor A league at home to Charleville, 3-19 to 0-11. Aine O’Donoghue and Clodagh Kearney were the pick of Rovers’ top performers
In Group A of the minor B county, Bandon continued their positive start by registering a second league victory. Hosting Dungourney, the Carbery club won 3-14 to 3-6. Anne O’Leary and Caoimhe O’Regan were amongst the goals for the winners in a league game Clodagh Barry accrued 0-8 and Orla Weblin fired over three points. The Lilywhites’ Caoimhe O’Regan, Orla Weblin, Ella McCarthy and Clodagh Barry stood out in a superb team display.
A West Cork derby between Kilbree and St Colum’s in Group A of the minor C county league ended in a 3-4 to 3-1 victory for the home club in Rossmore.
