PHIL Healy has singled out her 200m national record run at the Cork City Sports meet in July as the highlight of a record-packed season.

The Bandon AC sprint star received a Celtic Ross West Cork Sports Star Award on Tuesday night in recognition of her terrific achievements this past year, including setting Irish 100m and 200m records. And it was her 22.99 at the Cork City Sports in CIT that stands out.

‘The 200m at the Cork City Sports was the highlight. It wasn’t one where I thought I would break the record because of the conditions, but to get the record in front of a home crowd with everyone standing up, that was a special moment,’ says Phil, who also competed at the world indoor and European outdoor championships this year, as well as winning the 200m national title and much more.
