An item that attracted a lot of attention at the Bantry Historical and Archaeological Society’s exhibition was a bronze reproduction of St Brendan in his currach on Connemara marble that many in attendance recalled were handed out at the opening of the Gulf Oil Terminal.
Folklorist and author Jo Kerrigan gave a wonderful talk at Bantry Bookshop during the inaugural Imbolc Festival which was held over St Brigid’s weekend. Jo also gave a lot of time for a Q&A and book-signing afterwards.

The walking tour led by Barry Moloney focused on the Beatles in 1966, and elements of Kinsale and Irish history at that time. Along the way, they also explored Kinsale’s links with Liverpool.

This was kindly donated by the family of Dr Larry O’Connor of Schull in his memory.
