A number of West Cork charities have received funding from The Ireland Funds philanthropic network.
Sailing into Wellness is one of the non-profit organisations to benefit from the community grants.
The charity has its headquarters is Kinsale and uses the country’s last surviving wooden sailing ship, the iconic IK ILEN, to deliver therapeutic sailing programmes to those in recovery and other marginalised groups.

The Jesters All Ability Organisation will also receive funding.
The West Cork Jesters are one of the teams who operate under the group.
The mixed abilities squad was founded in 2018, and the group has since expanded considerably, with successful rugby and boxing clubs and many other social activities that provide inclusive and supportive opportunities to all individuals of all abilities to participate in sport.
Other Cork-based charities included in the Community Fund grant include Active Connections, Irish Dogs for the Disable and Nasc, the Refugee and Migrant Rights Centre.
The latest round of funding from The Ireland Funds totals over €880,000 and supports education initiatives that expand access to learning for people of all ages, alongside innovative programmes addressing pressing social challenges.
Caitriona Fottrell, President and CEO of The Ireland Funds, said: ‘Across Ireland, organisations are responding to local challenges with ambition, creativity and deep community knowledge, and this funding helps give them the resources to go further.
‘From expanding access to education to supporting innovative ideas, these grants are helping drive meaningful progress across the island. None of this happens without the generosity of our donors who continue to support real progress across the island.’
