THERE have been a number of outages of the Vodafone mobile phone network in Skibbereen this week as upgrading work continues.
On Wednesday the service in the town was out of action for about fifteen minutes after noon, but a second outage on Thursday lasted for over an hour.
There is currently a third outage in the Skibbereen area, at 10:25am on Friday.
A statement from Vodafone confirmed work was taking place on the network in West Cork which may be causing the ongoing problems.
‘Vodafone is undergoing a network upgrade programme in the Skibbereen area. Some temporary coverage degradation may be experienced by our customers during the next couple of weeks. We will keep the disruption to the minimum level possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused,’ the statement to The Southern Star said.
