THE Taste of West Cork Food Festival – which takes place every September – has been shortlisted in the International Travel and Tourism awards.

This latest accolade follows on from the festival already winning the Chambers Ireland Festival of the Year 2016 and the Restaurant Association of Ireland’s No 1 Foodie Destination 2017.

The shortlist is part of  the all-new World Travel Market International Travel and Tourism Awards, organised by WTM London, the leading global event for the travel industry.

In the first of its kind, the 13 WTM awards, with the participation of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), along with an independent panel of expert judges, showcase the best in class of the global travel and tourism industry, in front of an audience of over 500 senior industry professionals.

The festival has been shortlisted in the Best Destination for Food Tourism category, alongside two entrants from Spain and one from Northern Ireland.

Festival chairperson Helen Collins said the shortlisting was recognition for all of the committee’s hard work in promoting West Cork as a food tourist destination and she thanked Cork County Council for their support.

The awards will be held in London on Tuesday November 6th.
