THE annual student show at the West Cork Campus of the Cork College of Commerce, (CCOC, formerly Rossa College) took place recently.

The End of Year Show, which presents Level 5 art, craft and design and Level 6 professional arts practice, exhibits a collection of the students’ art showing their best and most inspirational work, to celebrate the end of the academic year.

A total of 22 students displayed their skills, with paintings in various mediums to drawings, sculpture, combined materials, design, green wood furniture and ceramics.  The scale and materials acknowledged the breadth and depth of the various students’ interests, expertise and experience.

The colour, diversity and cultural influences were reflective of the students’ inspirations as they represented many different age ranges and backgrounds, but all living in the West Cork area.

The show was launched by former student Deirdre Archbold, who is now studying for her degree in art and culture at DIT Sherkin.
