THIS year's Ahakista Festival sees two stars for the price of one! BBC presenter and author Graham Norton will this year be joined by Young Offenders actor Jennifer Barry.

THIS year’s Ahakista Festival sees two stars for the price of one! BBC presenter and author Graham Norton will this year be joined by Young Offenders actor Jennifer Barry, who plays Siobhan in the hit TV series (pictured, below).

The fun kicks off on Friday night with Jennifer opening the festival at 6pm followed by the hot-ticket quiz hosted by Ahakista’s most famous summer resident – Graham Norton.

'We are delighted that Jennifer will also be joining us for this special evening.,’ said Eilis Hodnett of Ahakista Community Association. Kids and adults will have the opportunity to meet the popular actress at Arundel’s By The Pier beer garden and raffle prizes on the quiz night include two tickets to attend the recording of the very popular Graham Norton show.

 

Local parish priest Fr Galvin is getting in on the act by sponsoring a Heavenly 4 course gourmet feast that he will prepare and serve himself, and matched with his best wines.

Other activities taking place throughout the August bank holiday weekend include road bowling, a tug of war, a treasure hunt, the Tom Whitty Memorial guided walk, bouncy castles, a BBQ, kids’ entertainment. and live music.

The monies raised from the weekend will go towards the ongoing development of amenities on the Ahakista Community Association site.

Graham is currently enjoying rave reviews for his second novel A Keeper, which is due in the shops in October.
