THE eircom Special Olympics collection day had an on-street celebration on Cork’s Patrick Street today (Friday).

An array of music acts such as Toy Solider, McMahon and the Frank and Walters and well-known sporting personalities such as former Clare hurler Anthony Daly, former Irish international rugby player Keith Wood and Cork camogie player Anna Geary are all lending a hand to raise funds for Special Olympics Ireland.

Collections are taking place in towns throughout Ireland today and all funds raised will enable Special Olympics Ireland to continue supporting athletes with intellectual disabilities. 2015 is a milestone year for eircom and Special Olympics Ireland as they celebrate 30 years of partnership.

This year is also significant as the World Games will take place in LA from July 25th until August 2nd.
