RESIDENTS in Enniskeane who are concerned by plans to construct a solar farm close to their homes will hand in their objections at the County Hall on Friday October 20th.

Donal Shorten, a spokesperson for some of the residents living in Teddies Upper, said objectors have been asked to assemble outside County Hall and hand over their submissions to Cllr Paul Hayes who has agreed to deliver them to the planning department on their behalf.

The closing date for receipt of submissions to Cork County Council is Wednesday October 25th and the residents are hoping that they will receive more local support before then.

‘The time for talking is over and that it’s all about getting submissions in now, on time,’ added Donal. ‘At our meeting last week, a representative from applicant Power Capital Renewable Energy attended. He took note of our questions and said he would take them back to his bosses to be answered. This was of no use to us. It’s the same with the ESB – we’ve got no answers from them either.

‘What we want now is for people who are opposed to the solar farm to write out their objections and email them to [email protected],’ Donal told The Southern Star.
