SKIBBEREEN Tidy Towns is appealling for the return of an historic road sign.
The old black and white sign, which states: ‘SKIBBEREEN - Please drive slowly’ is believed to be more than 60 years old.
It was last seen in its familiar location, at the side of the bridge adjacent to the West Cork Hotel, at Ilen Street.

A spokesperson for the Tidy Towns committee said it has been in touch with Cork County Council, which confirmed it does not have the sign in storage.
‘We would love to try to locate the sign and restore it,’ they added urging anyone with information to contact any of the volunteers.
