The Kinsale RNLI Raft Race on the August Bank Holiday weekend won three new supporters in the form of footballing legends Liam Brady, Ian Wright and Graham Souness.

THE Kinsale RNLI Raft Race on the August Bank Holiday weekend won three new supporters in the form of footballing legends Liam Brady, Ian Wright and Graham Souness.

Volunteer crew member Ruth Bruton was in town on Tuesday evening distributing posters to publicise the raft race when she spotted the trio strolling along the pier.  Ruth knows an open goal when she sees it and got herself in prime position to intercept them.

It is thought the lads were headed for a round of golf at the famous Old Head Golf Links. They were delighted to pose with the RNLI raft race posters and wished the volunteer crew   the very best of luck on Saturday, July 30th.

The race starts at the Bulman in Summercove at 1pm and ends with prize giving and a party on the pier hosted by Martin Shanahan of Fishy Fishy with fish and chips generously supplied by the fishermen and farmers of Kinsale. To find out more follow Kinsale RNLI on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The raft race committee is now taking entries on [email protected] or call Tricia on 083-1529282.
