AT least one person has been hospitalised following a collision between a truck and a lorry on the N71 outside Innishannon.
The accident, which occured at approximately 10.15am today, resulted in emergency services rushing to the scene of the incident on the main road from Cork city to West Cork.
The accident appears to have taken place on a bad bend before Innishannon bridge, on the Bandon side. This is a notorious spot for road traffic accidents, which has claimed lives in the past.
Gardai issued a statement at lunchtime to say at least one person has been hospitalised at CUH.
The road has now been closed for a garda forensic examination, and diversions are in place.
