Schull-based Sgt James O'Donovan (43) is the new crime prevention officer (CPO) for Cork West Division.
SCHULL-based Sgt James O’Donovan (43) is the new crime prevention officer (CPO) for Cork West Division.
The 43-year-old native of Rathbarry will now take up his new position at Bandon Garda Station in two weeks’ time.
Speaking to The Southern Star Chief Supt Con Cadogan said: ‘Sgt O’Donovan has been working with us for the last number of years and is very well known in the region. He has also being involved in a lot of community garda work in the Schull and Mizen Head area,’ said Chief Supt Cadogan.
Sgt O’Donovan replaces Ian O’Callaghan, now an Inspector at Bantry Garda Station.
