An award-winning café and deli has announced it will be closing its doors this September.
The Stuffed Olive has been open on Bridge Street in Bantry for the past 13 years, and has become somewhat of an institution in the town.
Proprietor Patricia Messom runs the business alongside her daughters Sarah and Grace, and announced the closure on Wednesday, June 10th.

In a post on social media, the team said: ‘For the past 13 years on Bridge Street, our bakery and deli has been a huge part of our lives. What began as a business became so much more – a place filled with early mornings, familiar faces, friendships, laughter, and countless cups of coffee.’
‘This September will also mark the end of an incredible chapter for our mum, Trish, who after 55 years in hospitality has decided it's finally time to hang up her apron strings and enjoy a well-earned retirement.’
The deli will close its doors for the final time on September 26th.
The Stuffed Olive’s famous mince pies will be available unseasonably early throughout the month of September to give customers one last taste of their delicious Christmas treats.
The deli earned national recognition through several notable awards, including being recommended in the McKenna’s guides multiple times, and making it on to Georgina Campbell’s Ireland Guide.
Trish, Sarah and Grace paid tribute to all the customers and staff that have supported the business down through the years.
‘Whether you called in every day or only occasionally, you became part of the story of this place, and for that we will always be thankful.
‘While we're sad to be saying goodbye, we're choosing to celebrate the memories, friendships and moments we've shared over the years.
‘From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our journey.’
