A FISHERMAN who took a corner too fast in Castletownbere has been fined €400 for careless driving.
Conor Rodgers (32) of Seaview, Westend, Tory Island, Donegal appeared at Bantry District Court.
Sgt Tom Mulcahy said the accused was identified as the driver who struck a parked van at around 11pm on April 13th 2025.

He said the accused got out of his vehicle briefly at the square in Castletownbere, but left the scene without leaving his details on the van.
In a voluntary cautioned statement made to gardaí at Castletownbere Garda Station, the accused admitted that he had panicked.
His solicitor Colette McCarthy said: ‘He was driving too fast. He took the bend too quickly and struck the parked van.’
She said her client’s car was extensively damaged as well but his insurance company had compensated the injured party.
In addition to the €400 fine for the careless driving offence Mr Rodger was ordered to pay a €100 fine for failing to report the incident.
