Man charged with aggravated burglary in West Cork further remanded in custody

Thomas O'Neill (45) made his second court appearance when he appeared at Cork District Court this Friday charged with an aggravated burglary at the home of a 57-year-old man at Derrigra, Enniskeane.

A man has been further remanded in custody charged in connection with an aggravated burglary in West Cork where a sleeping homeowner was attacked by an intruder armed with a yardbrush.

Thomas O’Neill (45) made his second court appearance when he appeared at Cork District Court this Friday charged with an aggravated burglary at the home of a 57-year-old man at Derrigra, Enniskeane.

The state alleges that Thomas O’Neill, also known as Thomas Savage, committed an aggravated burglary where he entered the premises while armed with a yardbrush on December 22nd last.

Insp Danny Cohohan said the State was seeking a remand in continuing custody and Judge Olann Kelleher remanded Mr O’Neill in custody to appear at Bandon District Court on January 5th.
