THE Fastnet Film Festival, along with IMRO, has a special programme of musical events lined up for next month’s event.
Running from May 23rd to 27th, Film Music in Focus curator Maurice Seezer, in partnership with IMRO, will facilitate some very ambitious and collaborative performances this year, including a screening of Ernst Lubitsch’s Lady Windemere’s Fan with live accompaniment by Trio Apachés, conducted by the score composer Carl Davis.
A round table discussion with score composer Stephen Rennick anad various live ‘Music in Film performances’ around Schull over the festival are also lined up, as well as a €5,000 Music in Film prize fund of €3,000.
Keith Johnson of IMRO said he was delighted the organisation was continuing its association with the festival. ‘Celebrating the very best in independent film making from Ireland and around the world for the last 10 years, the festival provides an invaluable platform for film industry professionals to showcase their work. A broad spectrum of seminars, interviews, masterclasses and workshops covering such topics as casting, screenwriting, music score composition, costume design, auditioning and so much more make this a must attend event for industry professionals and film fans alike.’
