LETTER: A true measure of the EU dictatorship

SIR – The rejection mindset and the mockery of the UK by EU bosses Tusk and Juncker is staggering. We have an ignorant Juncker telling the world that the sovereign parliament of the British voters is more mysterious than the Sphinx and haughty Mr Tusk saying that the British people wished to be ‘European’ rather than leave the EU.

He bases this on the alleged figures of there being six million people signing a petition online to remain, and the hyped figure of one million marchers in London who, like the EU, wish to ignore the majority in the REAL poll of 17.4 million voters to leave, only for everyone to now go back to the drawing board until Brussels gets the ‘right’ result. Sounds familiar?

This is the true measure of the EU dictatorship we labour under, where democracy is regarded as a one-way street. This is the stark fearful scenario of what faces Britain and Ireland and Europe going forward.

Is this what we wish to happen before one day being shocked into the reality that nation States and the will of citizens count for nothing, and we are then not 'allowed' make positive changes in our sovereign countries?

We are already being pressured on new taxes and so-called levy introduction under pain of sanction here, as well as severe and unnecessary dangerous changes to the border in Ireland.

It will now become the EU border with, as yet, unforeseen circumstances. Wake up Ireland.
