BALLYDEHOB was swaying to jazzy beats recently  for the village’s annual jazz festival, which drew large crowds and curious onlookers for four days.

The highlight on both Saturday and Sunday of the festival was the New Orleans-style jazz funeral parade which provided plenty of West Cork colour as people lined the streets to catch a glimpse.

From the jazz ‘markets’ to dance classes, there was something for everyone. The musical acts didn’t disappoint, either, with one band, Jimbino Vegan and the Jazz Cannibals, surprising a captive audience in a local bar on Saturday night by stripping off naked, much to the amusement of those in attendance.

The local community hall featured bands like Barren Whitfield & The Savages, Trio Balkan Strings and Home Jazz Band and was well attended by festival goers.
