THREE teams of mathematicians from Bandon Grammar School were the only Cork students among the 15 teams honoured at the John Hooper Medal Awards Ceremony.
Charlotte Jennings, Lauren O’Donovan, Sophie Wetz, Jordan Warren, Denise O’Brien, James Kirkby and Sara Jaen Gordon each received their merit awards at the Royal Irish Academy, Dublin last month. Their statistical analysis was conducted on topics as diverse as randomness in packets of skittles, cyberchondria and the correlation between left handedness and brain function.
