ON Wednesday October 8th, an amazing morning was had at GOSH.
The Wednesday morning gathering was blown away by the support they received from the public who travelled from near and far to help raise funds for Cancer Connect.
From the minute they opened the door, the place was a hive of activity and the atmosphere was electric. The sense of community was something everybody commented on and it just proved what they already knew, that GOSH is built around a love of community and the bonds of friendship they hold so dear.

The group presented two travel comfort blankets to Helen O’Driscoll (Cancer Connect) for use by those travelling to Cork for treatment.
The blankets are more than just blankets, they are unique handmade knitted crafts lovingly created by the Wednesday Gathering group.
Each square is made with love and dedication which makes it a gift from the heart.
Tea, coffee, cakes and treats were enjoyed by everyone but it was the chat, laughter, positivity and friendliness that really shone through. Many met relations they hadn’t seen in years and many new friendships were formed.
The group would like to thank all the members who worked behind the scenes to get the place ready, from painting and cleaning to setting up the room and baking. Thanks also to all those who donated but couldn’t come along, and thanks to everyone who came out and made the day the success it was.
The final amount presented to Cancer Connect was €1,735.00. For a small rural group, this was an outstanding achievement of community spirit.
