A number of West Cork piers and harbours are set to benefit from funding of €151,782 for development. 

A NUMBER of West Cork piers and harbours are set to benefit from funding of €151,782 for development. 

Baltimore Harbour has been allocated €14,344 for new power supply facilities, and €22,500 to provide adequate waste oil collection facility and other waste collection facilities on quay side.

 Kinsale Harbour is getting €14,344 for new power supply facilities, and €22,500 to provide adequate waste oil collection facility and other waste collection facilities on its quayside.

Meanwhile, Union Hall harbour will get €14,344 for new power supply facilities and Crookhaven village will benefit to the tune of €30,000 for upgrade works to the existing pier and slipway.

Snave Pier in Ballylickey, which recently featured in the RTE documentary on sea swimming ‘Vitamin Sea’is getting €33,750 to reconstruct a section of the existing slipway, steps, repairs and to install a handrail for swimmers.
