A MAN found asleep drunk on the side of the road in Dunmanway was ordered to pay a €125 fine at Clonakilty District Court.
John Murray, of Derragh, Dunmanway, appeared in court charged with a public order offence.
The court heard that gardaí on patrol found Mr Murray asleep while intoxicated at O’Donovan Rossa Terrace, Dunmanway, at 4.10pm on August 28th 2025. He was arrested for his own safety.

The court was told that Mr Murray had two previous convictions for public order matters.
Judge Joanne Carroll issued a €125 fine with three months to pay. Judge Carroll also fixed recognisance for appeal at €100 his own bond.
