CLEARY’S pharmacy in Skibbereen is on track for a place in the top 30 businesses in Ireland as part of the Retail Ireland Excellence Awards.
With over 500 other nationwide businesses taking part in this competition, Cleary’s have already secured their place in the top 100 competitors after an incredible score awarded by Retail Ireland’s mystery shopper.
‘We scored over 90%,’ Dan Cleary told The Southern Star. ‘The mystery shopper spent over 20 minutes with us in the store and, of course, we didn’t know who he or she was. We were judged on our friendliness and customer service in this first round and now we are in the top 100 companies in Ireland to progress to the next round of the competition.’
In the next round of the Retail Ireland Excellence Competition, Cleary’s online presence and merchandising will be up for judging.
‘We are all extremely proud to have gone this far in the competition,’ Dan said. ‘The next section of the competition is all about the way we display and market ourselves, the store and our stock both online and physically within the shop. Should we progress and get through to the final round we will be off to Killarney as one of the final 30 businesses in the competition for the final awards ceremony.’
The Top 30 stores will be announced on Monday September 24th with the Retail Ireland Excellence Awards final taking place in Great Southern Hotel in Killarney on Saturday November 10th.
