THE Director of Public Prosecutions is expected to give a direction in a case in which a Bantry man has been charged with two drug offences.

Solicitor Flor Murphy was granted free legal aid when he appeared on behalf of the accused, Peter Delaney (33), of The Pier, Harbour View, Bantry, at the local district court.

The accused has been charged with possession of cannabis valued at €100 at The Pier on March 3rd last, and possession of cocaine valued at €800.

Judge Joanne Carroll adjourned the case for a direction by the Director of Public Prosecutions and remanded the accused on continuing bail to the June 25th sitting of the court.
