THE acclaimed Irish movie ‘Older than Ireland’ will be shown in a number of locations in Cork, as part of the launch of the County Council’s Age Friendly Strategy.
The Council will launch its strategy on Monday April 11th in the foyer of County Hall. The Mayor and chief executive will be in attendance as will be invited older members of the community and students from Colaiste Choilm in Ballincollig.
To mark the week, the documentary film Older than Ireland will be screened in the Cinemobile which will be out the front of the County Hall immediately after the launch and at other locations on subsequent days that week in County Cork.
Older than Ireland is a landmark documentary that tells the story of 100 years of life as seen through the eyes of over 30 centenarians.
Older people and secondary school students from across the county are welcome to attend and the director Alex Fegan will host intergenerational discussions following the screenings. All are welcome, but students are invited to bring their grannies and grandads along for an inclusive experience.
