GAELSCOIL Dr Uí Shúilleabháin in Skibbereen is delighted to have a Doodle for Google finalist in the nationwide competition.
Carys Challacaombe, aged 11, took as her theme ‘If I could create anything it would be’ and submitted her entry in November 2016. And her entry, entitled Just a Matter of Time, was selected for the finals last week.
Carys took her inspiration from the Lewis Carroll classic Alice Through The Looking Glass and came up with a visually colourful and exciting work of art.
Everyone at the Gaelscoil is excited for Carys, because there are only 75 contestants in the final of the nationwide competition, which will be decided by public vote.
The winner will have the honour of seeing his or her work featured for 24 hours on the Google Ireland homepage.
The winner will also be presented a €5,000 college scholarship, and the school will receive a €10,000 technology grant.
All of the 75 images will be featured on the website from February 7th to 21st so it’s up to the public to decide who the winner will be.
