THEY’VE thrilled on the water and now they’re set to entertain off it, as Olympic silver medallists Gary and Paul O’Donovan will take centre stage at Skibbereen Lions Club gala charity dinner in February 2017.

‘An Evening With Gary and Paul’ is the brainchild of Skibbereen Lions Club with funds raised from the big event going towards the nominated charities of Skibbereen Lions Club, and to Skibbereen Rowing Club, which has played such a huge role in the continued success of the brothers.

Officially the most successful rowing club in the country, it is also in need of funds to upgrade and improve its facilities – and that’s where the gala event on Saturday, February 18th, in the West Cork Hotel, Skibbereen, will help.

‘It promises to be a night full of entertainment and fun with two of Ireland’s most recognisable sports stars, who captured the hearts of the nation this year. Skibbereen Lions Club is delighted to be able to help Skibbereen Rowing Club move forward,’ Skibbereen Lions Club president Sean Mahon said.

Tickets for ‘An Evening With Gary and Paul’, in association with The Southern Star, cost just €50, which includes a three-course meal, and there are corporate tables for eight and ten available. Tickets are on sale in Skibbereen from Cleary’s Pharmacy, K+T Tyres, Karizma Hair Salon and The Southern Star.

A night of laughs will include Gary and Paul O’Donovan taking part in a fun Q&A with Southern Star sports editor Kieran McCarthy, an auction of signed rowing memorabilia, other rowing-related fun and games, and dancing afterwards.
