A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a 20-year-old man who failed to appear before Judge James McNulty at a Clonakilty District Court sitting this morning to answer charges of theft of two kayaks and a RIB.

A BENCH warrant has been issued for the arrest of a 20-year-old man who failed to appear before Judge James McNulty at a District Court sitting in Clonakilty to answer charges of the theft of two kayaks and one Zodiac RIB in Rosscarbery on July 24th.

John Paul Pardy, with an address at The Seaside Caravan Park in Cappaclough, Kerry, was arrested by Gardaí following a call reporting a vehicle acting suspiciously in the Rosscarbery area.

When Gardaí stopped Mr Pardy and searched his vehicle, they found two kayaks and a rib that had been reported stolen. He was arrested at the scene, brought to Clonakilty, where he was released on station bail to appear at Clonakilty District Court on July 26th.

He failed to attend court and a bench warrant has been issued.
