The Beara Way Rerrin Loop on Bere Island will receive €10,000 for surface improvements as well as new signage and way makers.
The funding will improve the condition on the walks and support the promotion of trails as tourist attractions.
Welcoming the announcement, Senator Noel O’Donovan said: ‘Walkways and trails are a blessing for communities in West Cork, providing an outlet to get fresh air, exercise, connect with neighbours and friends and boost our mental wellbeing.
‘We know the benefits these walking trails have for the whole community. This funding will improve the condition of these walking trails so it’s more inclusive for everyone.’
