Bantry school to be transformed into snowy Winter Wonderland

A Bantry national school will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland on Sunday, November 27th.

A BANTRY national school will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland on Sunday, November 27th.

Our Lady of Mercy National School at Summerhill, will have Santa grottos, a baking emporium with Mrs Claus, an elves’ playroom with sleighs, and a chance to write letters, get faces painted, and enjoy the Winter Wonderland Garden.

The popular event takes place between 12 noon and 4pm and compere is Gearoid O’Leary.

There is also an indoor crazy golf (and other games) room, a tea-room (free orange!) and in the main hall you can enjoy the bazaar featuring a bottle stall, hot apple juice stall, chocolate fountain, big raffle, lucky dip, lucky ducks and Christmas gifts to purchase.

Other stalls include the Ladies’ & Mens’ Triathlon desk, a ‘guess the weight’ cake, scented candles and magic reindeer food.

Raffle prizes include an overnight stay and spa visit to Muckross Park; tickets to Tralee Aquadome, Cork on Ice, Kennedy Pet Farm, Chuckies and Fota Island, vouchers for Drinagh, Barrett’s Agri produce, a DVD player, a HP printer, SuperValu hampers and more.

Entry is just €2 for adults, and €6 for children, which includes a Santa visit, gift and photo.
