UP to 225 vehicles are passing through the Clancool/Richmond Court area of Bandon, causing residents to express concerns about traffic.
Last week, a meeting took place at the Council offices in the town between Mary Rose McCarthy, Rita Waugh, Maria Riordan, all of the Clancool/Richmond Court Residents Association and Dáil Deputy Michael Collins.
The meeting, with senior Council officials, was called to discuss traffic calming measures in the area.
‘Progress was made on this issue and on grass cutting, footpaths broken, potholes, yellow lines and many other issues,’ said Deputy Collins.
‘Our aim for this meeting is that public consultation would take place with the residents to resolve the nightmare problems, where up to 225 vehicles pass through in one hour some mornings,’ he added.
Deputy Collins thanked Denis Buttimer for his valuable contribution at the morning.
‘The design section of the Cork County Council will now be tasked with coming up with a solution to this problem,’ he added.
