A West Cork firm of solicitors has won the Munster Small Law Firm of the Year award at the prestigious Irish Law Awards.

A WEST Cork firm of solicitors has won the Munster Small Law Firm of the Year award at the prestigious Irish Law Awards.
The announcement, which was made last week, comes on the back of McCarthy & Co Solicitors in Clonakilty having won Legal Website of the Year at last year’s award ceremony, as well as having been listed as finalists in the Law Firm Innovation category the year before.
The timing of the award is particularly auspicious for the West Cork firm because its managing partner, Flor McCarthy, has just completed a book on business development for solicitors entitled The Solicitor’s Guide to Marketing and Growing a Business: How to Turn Your Legal Practice into a Financial Success – a book that was launched by the Minister for Justice, Ms Frances Fitzgerald TD, in Dublin this week.
The company also came under the spotlight when one of its valued members of the staff, Deirdre O’Donovan, was prestigiously shortlisted in the finals for the Legal Executive of the Year.
Speaking on behalf of the company, Flor McCarthy said: ‘We are deeply honoured to have been selected by the distinguished judging panel for the Munster Small Law Firm of the Year award. It means an awful lot to the entire team here and provides wonderful recognition for all of their hard work.’
